I have now had 16 Infusions of Opdivo, The last cat scan showed improvement in both lungs. The tumors in the right lung are very faint and the fluid in the left is gone and the tumors have shrunk a little bit. My labs are great and over all I feel pretty good. I thank you for your prayers. Keep them going.

I have had 7 infusion treatments in the last 12 weeks. The infusion only attacks the bad cells. So far I am status quo. There is a little more blockage in the upper left lung but do to the fact that all my blood work and vitals are in the excellent range and that I feel really good the Dr. is pleased. I will continue the infusion through July and then have another cat scan in August. Will let you know later about the Sept 15th-16th get together.
Thanks for caring. Sharon

This is just a note to bring you all up to date on my health situation. I saw the Dr. on March 7th. My blood work was excellent but the chest xray was inconclusive. He ordered a cat scan for the 15th. I saw him again on the 17th. The cat scan showed that one of the spots on my right lung had grown (ugh) a bit and there was fluid on the left lung. He wasn't sure if it was caused by radiation or what. There was a slight change in the left but he was not too concerned . I started immune therapy yesterday. I am having a Opdivo infusion. It will only attack the cancer cells. I will have two treatments two weeks apart and then a blood test to see how I am tolerating the drug. If all is going well I will have 4 more treatments. Please continue to remember me in your prayers and thanks for all you have already said.  Sharon

This is the latest update on my health. I saw the Dr. yesterday. I had a chest xray and blood work on Monday. I have had no treatments the month of January due to low hemoglobin count. The Dr. was quite please with the text results. My Hemoglobin went from 10 to 11.7. The xray still showed shadows but they have not grown. I am off treatment until I see the Dr. on March 7. We hope this will give my body time to regroup and get stronger and that my hemoglobin will continue to rise. He would like it at 13 or 14 (which is where it was when I started treatment in Sept). Please continue to keep me in your prayers. Thank you for all your support.  Sharon

I had my 6th chemo 12/27/16. Had consultation with my Dr. today.  After reviewing my cat scan from yesterday my tumors have not shrunk anymore but they have not grown.  I am now off treatment for two weeks.  Will re-evaluate my situation then.  Will probable try another chemo to see if we can get further shrinkage.  Needless to say I was disappointed but will continue to pray for remission.  Meanwhile I feel good and look pretty good.  Keep the prayers coming. This is an update on my ongoing cancer treatment.  I have had 3 chemo treatments and 20 radiation  treatments.  I had the 4th today. Met with the oncologist yesterday and the tumors have shrunk.  I am not in remission yet but hoping this one will  do the trick.  There is a possibility I will have two more chemo treatment. I thank you for your prayers and support especially the prayers.  Keep them going up to the boss.

Just an update on the power of prayers you all have been saying for me. Yesterday was two weeks since my last radiation treatment. I had a cat scan to see what was what. Well, very good news. The spot on the right rib is GONE. Hooray. The two very minute spots on the lower right lung have not changed and the doctor feels that chemo will get rid of them. The upper left lung is shrinking and showing signs of remission. I will start another 10 days of radiation next Monday as I am still coughing up a little bloody sputum. I started chemo yesterday and all is well. Please continue to pray for me and Bill as we continue on this journey. We love to travel but didn't plan on this trip. No beaches or cruise ports in Kansas. (HA)
Will keep you all updated. Thanks so much for your support.  Love, Sharon

I decided to inform you all of my situation by E-mail instead of phone.  Four weeks ago I was diagnosed with lung cancer.  Have been waiting until now to tell you all as facts were not complete as to treatment.  We are very optimistic we will have a good out come.  I ask for your prayers as I will need your strength in the coming months. Love, Sharon
