Following graduation I served six months of active duty as part of my Army Reserve obligation. Following my release I attended William Jewell College for two years. I worked several jobs, then returned to school at Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, graduating in 1962. Law interested me and I attend law school at Drake University, in Des Moines for a year and a half, then decided it wasn't for me.
I started work with Sears Roebuck in Des Moines, then transferred to the "Sears Tower" in Chicago. All in all I spent about fifteen years with Sears. I moved to the Phoenix area in 1977 and worked for Montgomery Ward, then finished my working career with Wal-Mart, retiring in 2002. Ten or so years earlier I started a "house setting/watching" business on a part time basis, something I'm still involved in.
Claudette and I were married in 1977 and three years later we adopted a son. He is currently 35 years old, and is career Navy stationed in Japan. We live in Mesa, Arizona and a few years ago cut down our orange trees, since the leaves were causing problems with our pool. We're enjoying life and plan to remain in the Phoenix area.
