ANNA MAUDE (EPPERSON) HUGHES Anna Maude (Epperson) Hughes, 89, of Windsor, MO, died Saturday morning, March 31, 2001, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, MO. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, at the Windsor United Methodist Church with Reverend Marc Hibbard officiating; burial in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Monday at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. The family suggests contributions to the United Methodist Church music program in care of the funeral home. Ann was born April 17, 1911, in Maryville, MO, the daughter of George Leonard Epperson and Addie Elizabeth (McComas) Epperson. On April 18, 1959, she married Eldred Steiner Hughes and they made their home in Windsor. Eldred preceded her in death on January 2, 1982. She attended Ft. Collins College, Colorado, and Southwest Missouri State College, Springfield, MO, and taught home economics in Windsor and Liberty, (MO) Schools for a number of years. She then was Home Economist for the Missouri Extension Center in Jackson County for several years. She was an active member of the Windsor United Methodist Church, a member of Henry County Chapter DAR, Chapter BA P.E.O., Garden Club, and a variety of other organizations in Windsor. She was a beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend, and will be greatly missed. Survivors include two brothers and their wives, Harold and Marion Epperson, Milton, IA, and Charles and Lois Epperson of Liberty, MO, a sister-in-law, Mary (Hughes) Boney, Windsor, MO, six nieces, Barbara Epperson, Leawood, KS, Judy Brown, Blue Springs, MO, Betty Gregory, Liberty, MO, Mary Epperson, Lee's Summit, MO, Margaret Hannah, Blue Springs, MO, and Janet Duncan, Excelsior Springs, MO, three nephews, Keith Epperson, Sigourney, IA, Kenneth Epperson, Milton, IA, and Richard Epperson, Liberty, MO; 14 great-nieces and nephews, five great- great-nieces and nephews, and many good friends throughout the country.
