Barbara “Bobbie” Lee Colt, 90, passed away peacefully at home on February 9, 2023, with family at her side.

Bobbie was born May 21, 1932, in Liberty, MO, to Joseph Cook and Elizabeth (Cuthbertson) Cook. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1950.

In her younger years, Bobbie worked in the school cafeteria at Franklin Elementary and at Sears and Roebuck. She later went to work for the Clay County Recorder’s Office until retirement in 1997.

Bobbie traveled to several places around the world, her favorite place being England. After she retired, she devoted her time to volunteering with her church Senior group, organizing potluck dinners and day trips. She was also a volunteer for 15 years for Liberty Hospital Hospice, until her health no longer permitted. Bobbie enjoyed weekly Bible study classes with the Senior group at Liberty Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member. She also enjoyed weekly card games with friends. At home, she loved to cook and tend to her flower gardens. She was a woman of deep faith, which gave her great comfort in her final days. Anyone who knew Bobbie, never had to wonder what she was thinking…she didn’t hesitate to tell you what was on her mind.

Along with her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her son, Joe Zack Colt; daughter, Kathleen Ralls; grandson, Will Lane; nephew, Mike Cook; great grandson, Mattix Wilson; and brother, Bill Cook.
