Tuesday's Child is Full of Grace and that would
describe Bonnie Jean Simpson perfectly. Ms. Simpson, 75, flew home with angel's
wings, passing away on June 30th, 2017, from complications of pneumonia and
Alzheimer's. Ms. Simpson was born Bonnie Jean Zuck on Tuesday, August 26th,
1941. She was raised in Liberty, Missouri on Bonnie Lane, a street named after
her. After being raised in Liberty, she lived in Colorado and California before
returning home to raise her children and working hard as a single mother. She
was involved in her church at Pleasant Valley Baptist, her community of Glenaire
Village as committee woman and many children's lives as their caregiver and
babysitter. Ms. Simpson was revered in this role and she considered her biggest
accomplishment her family, immediate and extended.
This includes her beloved neighbors and friends, Don and Janice McDonald, who
were beautifully present in caring for Simpson until her final hours. Simpson is
survived by her three children, Jennifer Lee, Christopher Haug and Alison
Simpson-Smith. Grandchildren Nicole and Leiani Haug, Trevor and Saxon Lee:
Rowan, Arthur and Aliza Smith. Great grandchildren Alice Bracken, Zachary Younts
and Carson Lee. Aunt to many and friend to all. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America to find relief for
this terrible disease.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 22nd at DW Newcomer's Sons (formally
White Chapel) in Gladstone, Missouri at 11a.m. with visitation beginning at 10
a.m. 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Mo 64119
