David L. Ferril, 67 of Forsyth, died Friday, Nov. 16,
2007, at his home.
He was born Sunday, July 25, 1940, in Liberty, a son of David M. and Jane Lincoln Ferril. In June 1968, in Sedalia, he was married to Patricia Duly, who died earlier.
He graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall in 1963 with a Bachelor’s degree in music. He served in the Army Reserves. He taught music in various schools and later worked for the Girl Scouts. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and an overall outdoor enthusiast. He was a constant reader and published various literary works.
He was a student of classical music, especially enjoying the works of Beethoven and Brahms. He played numerous instruments and was an outstanding vocalist. He retired to Forsyth from Raytown in 1999. He was a member of the Presbyterian faith.
Surviving are his sister, Sarah Ferril, of Hot Springs, Ark. He was also predeceased by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Crown Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Yvonne Marshall officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
