He grew up in Liberty, Missouri, and graduated from Liberty High School in the class of 1952. He then attended college before enlisting in the United States Army. During his stint in the military he was stationed at Ft. Huachuca in Arizona.
On March 13, 1955, he was married to Janet Elaine Estes in Liberty, Missouri. They lived in Sierra Vista, Arizona, while he was in the service and then returned to Liberty, Missouri, to make their home. There he was employed by Bendix and later Allied Signal as an electronics engineer. He retired in 1998.
In 1974 they moved to their lake home near Warsaw, Missouri. His wife, Janet, preceded him in death on July 12, 2004.
The enjoyed traveling and RV camping together. The traveled to numerous locations throughout the United States and Canada. They were members of the State Fair Good Sam's Club of Sedalia, Missouri, and enjoyed the company of their fellow campers.
As a young man David was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Honorary Tribe of Mic-O-Sa.
David is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Hank, of Grandview, Missouri, one son, Douglas Hank, of Kansas City, Missouri, and one grandson, Gunther Egan Hank Ruckman. He also leaves a close companion, Aggie Walker, of Sedalia, Missouri, one sister, Rena Leatherman, of Fairborn, Ohio, one brother, Lonie Hank, and his wife, Sandy, of Liberty, Missouri, a sister-in-law, Judy Kellogg, and her husband, John, of Gilbert, Arizona, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
David Hank will be cremated and a memorial service with many of his RV camper companions will be scheduled at a later date.
