David Redford, age 78, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Indian Hills - A Stonebridge Community, Chillicothe, Missouri. David was born the son of Glen H. and Eloise H. (Stickerod) Redford on February 20, 1940, in St. Joseph, Missouri. David graduated from Liberty High School, Liberty, Missouri, in 1958. He then attended William Jewell College from 1958 thru 1962, obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education and a minor in Biology. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Education from Central Missouri State University in 1966. David taught and coached at the Chillicothe High School for 36 years until his retirement in 2009. David was an Eagle Scout, a past member of The Chillicothe Jaycees, and a member of the Chillicothe United Methodist Church. David enjoyed playing football, basketball, and track in his younger years and was a letterman in each of those sports. He loved collecting antiques and feeding the birds and squirrels in his yard. David never met a stranger and always loved helping people in need, both athletes and students at Chillicothe High School. Survivors include several cousins and an uncle who he was named after. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home , Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Tarkio Home Cemetery, Tarkio, Missouri, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chillicothe Education Foundation Earmarked for CHS Football and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
