RICHARD LEE "DICK" GABBERT Richard Lee "Dick" Gabbert,63, of Pleasant Valley, MO died Wednesday, September 20, 2000 at Truman Medical Center West. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 22, at Church- Archer-Pasley Chapel, Liberty, MO. Cremation. Friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Alcoholic Anonymous Chapter 5 Claycomo Group, 7 NE Munger Rd., Claycomo, MO 64119. Mr. Gabbert was born February 11, 1937 in Kansas City and was reared in the Liberty area. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1954, where he established several records in track and field events. He graduated from William Jewell College in 1968, and completed additional studies at Central Missouri State University. Mr. Gabbert was a Master Electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He also had taught science, math, and had coached basketball as well as other sports at Hume High School in Hume, MO and Manuel High School in Kansas City. He was a member of the Lambi Ki Fraternity; an Eagle Scout and a member of the tribe of Mic-O-Say; and an active member and supporter of Alcoholic Anonymous. He was preceded in death by father, Clarence Thomas Gabbert; brothers, Thomas D. and James D. Gabbert; and grandson, Joseph Brennan. He is survived by wife, Patricia Gabbert of the home; daughters, Sheri Furgason and Lesli Davis, of Mt. Vernon, MO, Eve Kemple, Kansas City, KS; stepsons, Harold Merritt and Donald Merritt; stepdaughters, Kathy Payne, Susan Keller, Patricia Harrison, and Linda Steele; mother, Theda Gabbert, Pleasant Valley; sisters, Shirley Shotkoski, Plattsmouth NE and Carol Johnson, Liberty; brother, J.W.
