Fields M. "Bud" Duncan III, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, KS.

He was born on July 11, 1941 in Liberty, MO to Fields II and Gertie (Dearlove) Duncan. Bud graduated from Liberty High School in 1959. He studied Religious studies while attending William Jewell College. Bud served in the Missouri Army National Guard as a cryptology specialist. He was united in marriage to Sara G. Stewart on August 23, 1963 in Smithville, MO.

Bud spent the majority of his working career in restaurant management, working for Perkins, Cinnamon Sam's, and the Great American Cookie Company. He also worked as a security guard at MCI Hospital in Independence, MO. Bud was Christian by faith. He was a Boy Scout leader for troop #603 in Blue Springs; he was also a Tribe of Mic-O-Say member, where he met life-long friends. He was also the past president of the parents association at Higginsville Habilitation Center.

Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sara Duncan of Blue Springs, MO; sons, James Duncan (Heather) of Blue Springs, MO, Alan Duncan of Higginsville, MO; brother, Bill Duncan (Virginia) of Kearney, MO; grandchildren, Cody, Hunter, Connor; several extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends and family from 9:30-10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., at the Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery.
