Garnett Mason
Peters III of Liberty, Missouri, passed away on November 22, 2018 in Mazatlan,
Mexico.
He was born June 26, 1936 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Liberty High
School in 1954. He attended William Jewell College for 2 years and was a member
of KA Fraternity. He obtained his degree from University of Arkansas in 1958. He
was in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. From 1960 until his retirement
in 1999, he was a partner in G.M. Peters Insurance Agency. He had a passion for
helping others that found themselves in need. He was a supporter of the Liberty
Hospital Foundation which he donated the Garden Arbor at the Walking Trail at
Liberty Hospital. He was also a generous supporter of Higher Education and
Collegiate Athletics. He donated the track at William Jewell College in 1996
when the college needed a new track surface. He loved to attend William Jewell
basketball games and he was a huge fan of Coach Larry Holley. He loved cars and
collected antique cars and he enjoyed shining them up and going to local car
shows. He truly had a heart of gold and he will be remembered for his generosity
to the Liberty Community.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Ann, his sister, Marilynn Brown and her family,
Stan, Chris and Becky.
