Janice Keen was born June 17, 1941 in Springfield, Missouri to Eck and Clemma (Smith) Ivey.  She departed this life on April 27, 2006 at the age of 64 years 10 months and 10 days

              Janice had lived in Pryor for about the last 28 years.  She attended school in Grandview Missouri and graduated from Grandview High School in 1959. Janice had worked as an office manager for different explosive businesses for the past 20 years, the last one being Slurrey Explosives.  Janice was married to James “Jim” Keen on October 25, 1963 in Raytown, Missouri.  She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.  Janice also was a member of the 4-Way Rodeo Association, American Quarter Horse Association and NEOPHABA (North East Oklahoma Performance Horse Breeders Association), which she along with her husband Jim helped organize.  Janice’s top priority was her grandchildren.  She would always attend whatever activity they were involved in whether it was football, band, basketball, rodeo or soccer.  She also liked going on trips with her grandchildren, no other adults, just her and which every grandchild’s turn it was.  Janice enjoyed going to Las Vegas and to Elko, Nevada and she enjoyed her quiet time when she was brush hogging the pasture.

              Janice is survived by husband Jim of the home, 2 sons Jeff and Kellie Keen of Summers, Oklahoma, Jon Pat and Lori Keen of Pryor, 5 grandchildren Tyler Keen, Chelsea Keen, Jaycee Keen, Todd Keen and Taylor Keen, 1 brother Jack and Betty Ivey of Montrose, Pennsylvania.  Janice was preceded in death by her parents Eck and Clemma (Smith) Ivey, 1 daughter Jamie Dubois, 2 brothers Jim Ivey and John Ivey, 1 sister Betty Jean.
