KENNETH L. MOORE Kenneth L. Moore, 91, Liberty, MO, died
Thursday, November
4, 1999, at Ashton Court Care Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 8, at Liberty Christian Church, Liberty, MO; burial in White
Chapel Memorial Gardens, Gladstone, MO. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday,
November 7, at Liberty Christian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Christian Church. Mr. Moore was born December 10, 1907, in Lilly,
MO, to Wilson Scott and Julia (Shaver) Moore. He was a 1932 graduate of Central Methodist College and received his master's degree from the
University of Missouri at Columbia in 1942. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church where he was an Elder Emeritus, a Sunday school teacher and
past chairman of the board. On June 9, 1943, he married Ruth Powell who also
taught and was a guidance counselor at Liberty High School. He taught at
Whitsett Country school from 1933-1936, Auxvasse High school from 1936-1940,
Liberty High School from 1940-1956, West Junior School in the Kansas City
School system from 1956-1957, Liberty High School from 1957 until his retirement in 1973. Mr. Moore also drove a school bus and sponsored the
National Honor Society. During summers, he worked at Breiphol Drug Store and
at Stowe Hardware. After retirement, he worked for OATS, volunteered for Red
Cross Blood drives and worked for Mace Shoe Repair Shop. He was a member of
Clay County Retired Teachers Association. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Ruth P. Moore in 1956. Survivors include his daughter, Celesta Rose
Moore, Liberty, MO; a sister, Nancy Waters, Liberty, MO; several nieces,
