Larry Eugene Eiker, son of the late Kenneth George Eiker and Alma Elizabeth (Biggs) Eiker was born August 20, 1938 in Hayes, Kansas and departed this life on May 23, 2018 at the age of 79 years. Survivors include sister: Sara Jo Shettles and her husband Robert M. Shettles of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, his pet African tortoise Bob and other relatives and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his son Jeff Whitney Eiker and his grandmother Goldson Pool. Larry attended public school in Liberty, Missouri. He attended Central Missouri State University, and later attended Emporia State University, Emporia Kansas where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He received a Master’s Degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland Graduate School in College Park, Maryland and later returned to earn a second Master’s Degree in urban renewal. He taught as a secondary school teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia. He served as a City Manager for several cities throughout the county. After which he worked for the federal government as a Contract Specialist and later as an Independent Contractor. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Community Temple Church at 1120 Crawford Street in Kennett, Missouri with Bishop Luke Robinson officiating.
