LILLIAN I. DENNY Lillian I. Denny, 99, Liberty, MO (formerly of Kearney, MO), died Sunday, December 28, 1999, at the Liberty Terrace Care Center. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, at the Bethel Cemetery, east of Kearney. Mrs. Denny will lie in state 12 noon-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Fry Funeral Home, Kearney. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kearney High School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 1083, Kearney, MO 64060.Mrs. Denny was born October 17, 1900, in Pattonsburg, MO, the daughter of John and Alice Johnson Price. She was a lifelong Clay and Clinton County resident. Mrs. Denny received a teaching degree from Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, MO, and later earned master's degrees in math and English from CMSC. She taught English and math in Pattonsburg, Liberty and Kearney. During WWIII she taught at the Naval Training School which was held at William Jewell College. Her teaching career closed with her retirement in 1968, after 50 years in education. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Gilbert. She is survived by a sister, E. Jeanne Riley and a nephew, Mike Riley, all of Kearney, MO.
