Nancy Behrendsen Carr July 14, 1941 – April 18, 2008 Passed away on Friday, April 18, at Valley Medical Center in San Jose, after a long struggle with a heart related illness. Nancy was an artist, writer, and psychotherapist. She attended William Jewell College near Kansas City, Missouri; and her early careers included newspaper reporter, art director, and public relations director. Later, after living in England, she followed her dream of moving to California, earned a Master's Degree at San Jose State University and built a private psychotherapy practice in San Jose. Nancy is survived by her sister Gail Philman of Denver, Colorado; brother Tom Behrendsen of Liberty, Kansas; sister Susan Mick of Kearney, Missouri; daughter Richelle Brown of San Diego; and son David Molden of Wheatridge, Colorado. A memorial service will be held at the First Unitarian Church, 160 N. 3rd St., San Jose, on Saturday, May 31, at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the VITAS Hospice Charitable Fund at 39899 Balentine, Suite 161, Newark, CA 94560.
