Nancy Margaret Chrisman Jones, 85, a recent resident of the Arbor
Acres community in Winston-Salem, NC, and former lifelong resident of
Liberty, MO, passed away December 15, 2014, at the Fitzgerald Health Center
at Arbor Acres. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. followed by a service
celebrating Nancy's life at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Liberty
Christian Church, 427 East Kansas, Liberty. Burial will follow in Glenridge
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the
Robert and Nancy Jones Women's Basketball Endowment at William Jewell
College or to the Liberty Christian Church Trust Fund. Nancy was born Dec.
21, 1928, in Kansas City, MO, the eldest of three children of Howard
Chanslor and Mollie Belle (Zeigler) Chrisman. She grew up in Liberty.
Following graduation from Liberty High School, she attended William Jewell
College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in
1951. She was a member of Beta Sigma Omicron sorority. While attending
William Jewell, Nancy met the future love of her life, Robert Norman Jones.
They were united in marriage on Nov. 21, 1950, and enjoyed 61 years together
until Bob's death on June 21, 2012. Nancy's career as an Art teacher spanned
three decades in the Liberty School district. She was a member of Delta
Kappa Gamma honorary teachers' sorority. She was a devoted lifetime member
and deacon at Liberty Christian Church, where she was a member of the Odds
and Ends Sunday school class. Nancy and Bob remained loyal William Jewell
Cardinal fans and Cardinal Club members all their years. She was also a
longtime member of Town and Country Garden club. She was an unwavering
supporter of her Liberty community, church, friends and especially her
family, and will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include her son, Howard
Chrisman Jones; grandsons, Benjamin Howard Jones (Elizabeth Stonich) and
Chanslor Charles Jones (Kelly Call); great granddaughter, Rylee Chrisman
Stonich; sister, Martha Chrisman Hall; brother, George Albert Chrisman
(Rachel), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
