PAUL J. MUSTION, son of Carrick A. and Evelyn Good Mustion, was born March 19, 1936, in Liberty, Missouri, and departed this life March 20, 2016, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years.

In June of 1954, Paul was united in marriage with Wilma Carder and to this union was born four children, all surviving. Prior to Wilma’s passing in 1989, they shared many years of love and laughter.  

Paul entered the United States Army and proudly served our country for more than twenty years. During his service time, he was a Marksman. He received several Army Commendation Medals, Good Conduct Medal with three loops, and numerous other awards and medals. He retired from the Army after obtaining the rank of CW4, in April of 1977. He was proud of his service time and appreciated the dedication of his fellow service men.  

Paul was well educated. He received a Masters Degree in Business Education. He taught Accounting, Economics, and Business Finance at several universities including Park, Columbia, Southwest Missouri State, Drury, and Webster. He treasured his students and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with them.  

Along with teaching, Paul had also worked as a C.P.A., and in younger years was the owner and operator of John’s Texaco in Waynesville. People trusted him and he respected his clients.  

On September 9, 1999, Paul was united in marriage with Cynthia “Cindy” Thomas. Prior to Paul’s passing, he and Cindy had shared twenty-one years of wonderful memories together.  

When Paul wasn’t working to provide for his family, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was a licensed pilot and loved to fly. He enjoyed eating crawfish, it was his favorite. Paul especially loved his cats, “Blackie and Buddy” they were his pride and joy. However, nothing compared to the time spent and memories made with his family. He loved them each dearly.  

He is survived by his wife Cindy of the home; one son, Richard P. Mustion and his wife Kelley of Washington D.C.; three daughters, Pam Wyant and her husband David of Lebanon, MO, Martha Mustion of Maryville, MO, and Connie Martin of Grovespring, MO; grandchildren, Michelle Varcho and her husband Nick, Ryan Wyant and his wife Jessica, Lindsey Walton and her husband Ashby, Nathan Martin, Sarah Mustion, Shawn Wyant, Zachary and Nicholas Hedner, Hannah and Logan Stedman, and Canayha Norris; step-children, Christina Stedman and her husband Mark of Rockford, MN, Gerald Norris and Jake Norris and his wife Whitney, all of Lebanon, MO; one brother, Carrick Mustion of Liberty, MO; one sister, Polly Martin; one sister-in-law, Maryanna Mustion, both of Kansas City, Kansas;; great-grandchildren, Bristol and Adela Wyant, Bailey and Bowen Walton, and Eric and James Varcho; other relatives and many friends.

 Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Wilma; and two brothers, Joe Bill Mustion and Albert Mustion.  Paul was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He touched the lives of many and led by example. He will be greatly missed.
