Richard Kent "Dick" Rees, 84, was born May 12, 1931 in Liberty, MO. to Clyde and Mary Rees. He left this earth on March 27, 2016. He was surrounded by his family.  ick served his country as an MP in the Korean War and vowed to never eat kim chi again. An Eagle Scout, Dick loved the great outdoors and adventure. Those adventures included ski patrol at Sun Valley Idaho, building then navigating a boat down the Missouri River to the Mississippi Delta with his father and piloting his Swift, Piper and Cessna planes. On February 20, 1960 Dick married the love of his life, Alice Jennings Ehlers and another adventure began as the step father to her 5 children. He created memorable excursions for his family; floating the Buffalo and Current Rivers, hiking the Laramie Mountains of Wyoming and annual ski trips. Dick was an avid hunter and fisherman — and taught Alice how to hunt as well. Dick was a builder by trade. The Village of Glenaire, MO, is filled with homes Dick designed and constructed. His woodworking skills are treasured by his family in the form of cabinetry, jewelry boxes, and furniture. Along with building houses, Dick was a builder of friendships. He loved a party with family, friends, and Alice's fabulous food. Dick is survived by his wife Alice, his 5 children; Nancy White, Carolyn Thompson (Terry), John Ehlers, Jim Ehlers (Anne), Tom Ehlers (Abbe), his 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, an extended family and a host of friends. He was a good man, was well loved and will always be missed. A service and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
