Robert McMillian, 73 CARLSBAD -- With a heavy heart and
tears in our eyes we have to say goodbye to Bob. After a long and difficult
battle with ALS, Bob passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family
on Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Bob was born December 2, 1937 in Dickens, Mo.
Robert (Bob) graduated from Liberty HS, Class of 57. After graduation, Bob
joined the United States Marine Corps. He met Sharon Ackerman while stationed at
Camp Pendleton and they were married on August 26, 1961. Bob loved trucking and
operated his own trucking company for many years. Bob retired from Superior
Ready Mix after 20 years. Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Robert and
wife, Briceyda; daughters, Katrina, Lisselly; son, Kiefer; daughter, Debbie, son
Brandon; daughter, Mikayla; son, Randy and his wife, Carolina; sons, Joshua, and
Jeremy; brothers, Dale, Orbon, and Wallace; and sister, Mable, who is waiting to
embrace him in heaven. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday,
June 25, at Daybreak Church, 6515 Ambrosia Lane, Carlsbad, Calif. Military
Honors will be performed. A gathering will follow after the service at the
church.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Elizabeth Hospice, 150
