Ronald Mathis, 67, long-time resident of
Bartlesville, passed away on April 24 in Houston, Texas.
A Memorial Service for Mr.
Mathis will be held on Monday, May 7 at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church
in Bartlesville.
Ronald was born in Liberty, Missouri. After
receiving his undergraduate degree from the William Jewell College in Liberty
and his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, Ronald eventually accepted
employment with the Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville. He began his
work as a Research Chemist. Ronald worked in the plastics and licensing fields
and retired in 1997 after spending 30 years with Phillips.
In 1964, Ronald married his life-long love, Barbara
Pendarvis. The couple had two children.
Ron is
survived by his sons, Kyle Mathis of Houston, Texas and Kevin Mathis of
Washington, DC as well as by his younger brother, Dan Mathis of Houston, Texas.
Memorial
contributions in the memory of Ronald may be given to the First Presbyterian
Church.
