Ruby Nell (O’Dell) Greer, 71, of Urich, MO died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian, MO. Burial will be in Austin Cemetery, Archie, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15 at the chapel. Ruby was born June 28, 1938 in Lathrop, MO, the daughter of Huber L. and Alma (Frost) O’Dell. As a young child, her family moved to Liberty, MO. On March 17, 1956 she was united in marriage to Jimmy Allen Greer at Liberty, MO and to this union four children were born.

Ruby was a member of the Ballard Red Hat Society and a member of the Fairview Baptist Church at Ballard, MO. She was a homemaker. She loved making and painting ceramics and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jimmy, on November 4, 1995, a granddaughter, Ramona Denise Greer, a sister, Mildred McCorkle and a daughter-in-law. Peggy Greer. She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Allen, Jr. Greer of Adrian, MO, Charles Gene Greer and his wife, Julie of Pleasant Hill, MO and Harold Douglas Greer and his wife, Amanda of Urich, MO; one daughter, Arlene Payne and her husband, Bob of Montrose, MO; three brothers, Huber O'Dell, Jr., Benny O’Dell and his wife, Darlene and Denny O'Dell and his wife, Delores; nine grandchildren, Becky Jo McClintock and her husband, Jay, Bobbi Greer, Charles Greer, Jr., John Jacob Greer, Jimmy Greer, III and his wife, Staci, William Greer, River Clark, Harold Greer, Jr. and Mike Payne and his wife, Katie; eight great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
