Stephanie Michelle Mnookin, beloved daughter of Diane and Donald Mnookin,
beloved wife of Philip Soltanoff,  passed away suddenly last Wednesday,
September 27, 2006 in New York. She was 39 years old. Stephanie was born on
April 30, 1967 in Kansas City, MO. She attended Notre Dame de Sion grade school
and was a graduate of the Barstow school and Vassar College. Graveside services
will be 10:30am Wednesday, October 4, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6900 Troost
Avenue, Kansas City, MO. A memorial service in New York City is being planned
for later in the month for her many friends there. The family requests no
flowers and suggests memorial contributions to the charity of your choice. In
addition to her husband and parents, survivors include her uncle and aunt, Mike
and Diane Igoe; her cousins, Carol Amiri, Chris Igoe, Louie Igoe and the Norman
Arnell family; her mother and father-in-law, Lou and Dorothy Soltanoff of
Connecticut; sister and brother-in-law, Emily and Arch MacInnes and nephew and
niece, Sam and Rebecca of Massachusetts; her writing partner, Eliot Laurence
and her most precious cat, Franny. Stephanie worked as a professional performer
and writer in New York and Los Angeles and had just recently begun a most
promising career writing for a new television series. Stephanie's generosity,
beauty, artistry and kindness touched all who had the good fortune to meet her
and to know her. She was also a teacher; much loved by her many students, an
adventurer, world traveler, brilliant chef and dependable friend in need. She
possessed unique and impeccable style and a most subtle and engaging sense of
humor. It lit the stages where she performed, and all those she touched. It's a
light that will be missed, each and every day.
