William James "Jim" Shinneman, 66, of Liberty, MO, passed away March 7, 2007 at his home, following complications from lung cancer. Visitation will be held from 3-5 pm Sunday, March 11th, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at M-291 Hwy., Liberty. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Liberty Hospital Hospice or to the American Cancer Society. Jim was born February 14, 1941 in Ludlow, MO, the son of Homer and Lois (Swank) Shinneman. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Ronnie Barker. He lived in Liberty the past 54 years and graduated from Liberty High School. Jim was a diesel mechanic for Mid-American Truck Lines and later Consolidated Freightways. After retirement he operated Jim's Heating and Cooling in Liberty out of his signature converted ambulance. Jim leaves his wife of 46 years, Sharon, of the home; five children and spouses, Jimmy Shinneman, Jr. and wife Vickie, Timmy Shinneman and wife Shelley, Kenny Shinneman and wife Sue, Penny Barker, and Lynne Shinneman; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jim will be fondly remembered for his slowpaced meticulous work by all his customers and friends in Liberty. He never met a stranger and loved to visit with all.
