1955 Track Season

When Track season started last year there were four returning lettermen, they were Art Carder, Jim Harris, Max Moyer and Keith McDonald.

The first meet was a triangular between Excelsior Springs, Richmond and Liberty, L.H.S. came in third in this meet.

A second triangular was held in Lexington and Liberty came in third again. The North Kansas City Hornets entertained the Jays for their third meet winning by a very close score.

Art Carder broke the L.H.S. high hurdles record in the time of :16. 1 and he won fourth place in the State Class B low hurdles. The mile relay team ran the distance in 3:38. 9 which is just short of breaking the record set by Cole, Bell, Triplett and Bates.

Those earning their letters this year were: Max Moyer, Keith McDonald, Jim Harris, Charles Rutherford, Larry Elliott, Larry Eiker and Dave Petty. There was just one senior who earned a letter, Bob Curley. Next year we will have nine lettermen back for 1956 track season.
