Vocal Music

The music department of Liberty High School has been under the expert direction of Miss Margaret Rust for seven years. During these years a sound improvement has been made in the department which can be seen in student interest, the high ratings at both district and state music contests and the approval of the townspeople of Liberty.

Several of the important engagements of the music groups might include: the annual Spring Concert, a program at William Jewell College for the A Cappella choir, assembly programs at the school, High School Baccalaureate and Commencement, and singing for various civic organizations and churches. But the high points of the year, musically, are the Music contests at Maryville and Columbia. When they bring home some No. I ratings, that is the time when all the work done during the year is worth it, both to Miss Rust and the students.
