LONBORG, JOHN K. "JAY", John K. "Jay" Lonborg went to Heaven on November 15, 2005. He was born to John C. Lonborg and Margaret B. Archer Lonborg in Kansas City, MO on February 27, 1937. He grew up in Liberty, MO. and married his high school sweetheart Elaine Hicks on January 25, 1958. Jay is survived by Elaine along with their son, two daughters, daughter-in-law, and two sons-in-law as well as six grandchildren: Kris and Kathy Lonborg, children Mattie and Mason, Kari and Steve Haywood, children Jena and Britney, Karla and Denny Boles, children Nick and Lily. Jay graduated with a BA degree from Kansas University and was a faithful supporter of the Jay Hawks. He started his career at Hallmark Cards in Leavenworth, KS and later owned a Western Auto Store in Belleville, KS from 1961-1964. Jay became an insurance agent for AXA Equitable Life Assurance in 1964 in Wichita, KS. He moved to Dallas as a manager with the Equitable in 1971.

Jay considered his clients his friends and sent them birthday cards and a picture card of all his family at Christmas. Jay was active in the Dallas Association of Life Underwriters and was President in 1989. He was a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and was a member of a Navigator Bible Study for more than 20 years. Jay loved to make people smile and was always ready with a joke or a story. He made everyone feel like they were the most important person he met all day. Jay served as a Deacon at Park Cities Baptist Church and as Deacon Chair in 1989. Jay and wife Elaine were Sunday School Department Directors for Newly Weds (70's & 80's) and for the past three years for the department of their age. Jay took great pride in having served on the Pastor Selection Committee that called Dr. Jim Denison to PCBC. Visitation 6-8 PM, Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Restland Funeral Home. Memorial Service 2:00 PM, Friday, November 18, 2005 at Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75225. Interment Restland Memorial Park. Memorials may be sent in Jay's honor to PCBC Building Fund, Navigators, P.O. Box 6000, Colorado Springs, CO 80934 or a charity of your choice.
